New Oasis gig poster and limited edition print

Created by the Sheffield artist Pete McKee, this live poster was inspired by the legendary 1994 Brighton show, which saw Oasis supported by Ride and The La’s.

The silk screen prints are personally signed and numbered by the artist and strictly limited to 100. Printed on Harlequin 340 gsm white Art Board, they measure 45x64cm. The prints are £190 unframed, or £250 framed (unfortunately we can only offer framed prints for delivery to UK addresses) and are a great collectors’ item.

The posters are printed on 170 gsm graphic silk paper and measure 60x80cm and available for £25.

Noel tops cool poll

OASIS star Noel Gallagher is the coolest bloke in Britain, according to a survey of young men.

The singer may have celebrated his 40th birthday this year, but he was voted way ahead of young pretenders such as Arctic Monkey Alex Turner.
Liverpool and England footballer Steven Gerrard was second in the 100 Coolest British Men of 2007 list compiled by Zoo magazine.
Doctor Who’s David Tennant was third – deemed to be cooler than current James Bond Daniel Craig, who was fourth.
David Beckham was fifth and Formula One star Lewis Hamilton sixth.
Comedians Simon Pegg and Ricky Gervais were ranked seventh and eighth respectively, followed by boxer and BBC Sports Personality of the Year Joe Calzaghe.
Arctic Monkeys frontman Turner brought up the rear in 10th place.

Ricky Hatton

The top 20 included boxer Ricky Hatton, Chelsea defender John Terry and Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson.

While Noel Gallagher headed the list, his younger brother Liam scraped in at number 22.
Zoo editor Ben Todd said: “These inaugural awards have revealed some quite surprising results with Noel Gallagher, who has acquired something of an ‘elder statesman’ role, topping the poll.

“It shows that he is someone young people today strive to be like – perhaps even more so than when Oasis dominated the charts a decade ago.”

The list contained a handful of older stars, including Sir Paul McCartney at 55 and Sir Mick Jagger at 73.
Elsewhere, Prince Harry made it to number 37, although there was no place for his brother William.
Simon Cowell was a late entrant at number 98.

Oasis to be made into teddy bears

Liam and Noel Gallagher are going to get stuffed soon, apparently

What do you buy the Britpop-loving yet tender-hearted friend in your life for Christmas?

Well soon there might be the perfect gift – according to the Daily Star – Oasis teddies are soon to hit the shelves.
Oh yes, apparently a Japanese firm plan to brand up a load of soft toys with the Oasis logo, and even make the furry friends interchangeable rock’n’roll costumes.

Sounds like the perfect stocking filler to us. Mad fur it, etc.

Liam’s the head masterplan

LIAM GALLAGHER has been giving music lessons to youngsters at his lads’ school.

The OASIS rocker often drops in to Lennon and Gene’s classroom and passes on his skills to their young pals.
He has even been kicking a football around in the playground with the kids.
The youngsters must be made up to be getting music masterclasses from a rock ’n’ roll legend . . . but I’m not sure their parents will be quite as happy.
If the kids have started swaggering home, sticking up two fingers at their mums then calling their dads “sunshiiiiiine”, their folks will know who to blame.

A source told me: “Liam’s spending loads of time in the school. He does the school run and often pops in and teaches the kids some music skills.
“He’s often in the music room playing on the instruments with the kids. And he sometimes has a kickabout outside too.

Wildman

“Some of the kids are a bit too young to really understand who he is.
“He’s just another dad to a lot of them — they don’t know how lucky they are. He’s spending more time in the classroom now than he did as a kid.” The rock wildman — whose band’s albums include The Masterplan — has turned into a model father in the last few years.
Well, almost. He did attack a photographer in front of little Gene in February.
His missus NICOLE APPLETON calls him “the best daddy in the world”.

And earlier this year Liam said he loves fatherhood and sorting out little Gene’s hair.
He said: “My kid’s got the best haircut in the world, man. I do it every day — the comb is your friend.
“I think I’m a top dad. Haven’t got a nanny, none of that.”
Liam has embraced fatherhood so much that Spongebob Squarepants is now one of his favourite kiddies’ shows.

One of the first signs of Liam being tamed was when he took a break from beating up photographers to pose for snaps outside the cartoon movie premiere in 2005.
Liam went to school in Didsbury, Manchester — occasionally.
But he wants his kids to get a good education at their London school and runs a tight ship at home.

He still hates Heathen Chemistry, though . . .

Gallagher forgets drunken chat with Page

British rocker NOEL GALLAGHER got so drunk at LED ZEPPELIN’s reunion gig in London this week, he cannot remember talking to guitarist JIMMY PAGE. The Oasis star was among the many celebrities in attendance at the legendary band’s tribute gig on Monday (10Dec07), and got the chance to enjoy a lengthy one-on-one chat with the veteran axeman.

But Gallagher was too intoxicated to recall his conversation the following morning. A source says, “Noel’s rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest musical figures. “He was really looking forward to exchanging notes with Jimmy – but he’d overdone it on the Stella (beer). He woke up the morning after the show and realised he couldn’t remember anything about their chat.”

Oasis’ Liam Gallagher wants to invite Gordon Brown to dinner

The Oasis singer is planning a unique Christmas

It may have been big brother Noel who shared refreshments with then-Prime Minister Tony Blair in 1997, but now it looks like Liam Gallagher wants to get in on some Downing Street action.

Except – according to the red-tops today (December 10) anyway – he wants to do it in reverse, and invite Gordon Brown round his gaff for Christmas dinner.

Oh yes, according to “a source”, “Liam thinks it’d be “interesting”. We have to agree. Especially when we read that Liam also wants to extend the invitation to ‘I’m A Celebrity…’ winner Christopher Biggins.

“He’s a huge fan”, the source tells the Daily Star. A large pinch of salt with your turkey, Mr Gallagher?
