SO MEG MATHEWS is touting her second-hand gear on t’internet, claiming it’s all genuine OASIS memorabilia. I hear otherwise. Word reaches me that all the garish furniture touted by NOEL GALLAGHER’s ex is from after their divorce. But when flogging old sticks, it helps to stick an Oasis price tag on.

Better news for Noel and the lads is that Man City chairman Thaksin Shinawatra is offering them £100,000 for a gig.

London (dpa) - Meg Mathews (41), Inneneinrichterin und Ex- Ehefrau von Noel Gallagher (40), will sich offenbar vollkommen von ihrer Vergangenheit lösen.

Zumindest trennt sie sich von weiten Teilen ihres bisherigen Hausstandes, allem voran von Gegenständen, die sie an ihren Ex erinnern.

Dem britischen Boulevardblatt «The Sun» zufolge hat Mathews jede Menge Möbel und Einrichtungsgegenstände aus ihrer gemeinsamen Zeit mit dem Oasis- Gitarristen zusammengesucht und will sie bei eBay verkaufen. Im Angebot sind unter anderem ein Esstisch, eine Chaise Longue, ein Sideboard, Lampen, ein komplettes Dinner-Service von Gucci und ein Paar lederne Handschellen. Auch ein schwarzes Sofa, auf dem während der 90er Jahre angeblich schon viele prominente Partygäste im Londoner Hause von Meg und Noel gesessen haben, soll einen neuen Besitzer finden.

Mindestens 14 000 Pfund (annähernd 21 000 Euro) soll die Auktion bringen. Anfang des Jahres hat die allein erziehende Mutter schon einmal Platz geschafft und persönliches Hab und Gut versteigert. Sie soll damit 26 000 Pfund (38 000 Euro) eingenommen haben.

Alistair Campbell’s diaries reveal fears about Noel Gallagher

Former Prime Minister Tony Blair was worried that Oasis would “do something crazy” when they attended a reception at 10 Downing Street in 1997.

The then newly-elected leader was holding a music industry reception when he discovered that the band’s guitarist Noel Gallagher was attending.

However, according to the diaries of his spokesperson Alistair Campbell, which were published yesterday (July 8), Blair had no idea how the Oasis man had been invited, and was then worried he might be the victim of a spot of rock ‘n’ roll behaviour.

“TB (Tony Blair) was worried that Noel Gallagher was coming to the reception tomorrow. He said he had no idea he had been invited,” wrote Campbell. “TB felt he was bound to do something crazy. I spoke to (Creation Records boss) Alan McGee and said can we be assured he would behave.”

The record label boss assured them it would be fine, explaining had they invited frontman Liam they might have been in trouble.

“Alan said he would make sure he did. He said if we had invited Liam, it might have been different,” said Campbell.

“(Noel) Gallagher arrived with his wife Meg, McGee and his girlfriend. Cherie (Blair) met them and took them upstairs to see (the Blair’s children) Kathryn and Nicky, who was pretty gobsmacked when Gallagher walked in.

“He said he thought Number 10 was ‘tops’, said he couldn’t believe that there was an ironing board in there.”

I CAN reveal the real reason LIAM GALLAGHER threw a strop at Live Earth. Reports yesterday said he stormed out of the Wembley gig because his kids were playing up. But the OASIS frontman was actually desperate to have a ciggie after the new ban kicked in.

He told me: “I want a fag, you can’t smoke anywhere in here.”

The Cigarettes And Alcohol singer watched the show backstage with fiancée NICOLE APPLETON and their son Gene. His ex PATSY KENSIT and their son Lennon were also there. The kids played together while Liam downed bottles of Dom Perignon. He turned up to watch his mates in KASABIAN.

Nicole said: “Gene loves Kasabian too. He likes KEANE but there’s no way his dad would let him watch them. I want to stay to see MADONNA but the kids are tired and need to get home.”

Liam recently moved to posh Henley-on-Thames.

The former wildman said: “With all the bombs and security stuff in London, it’s a better place to be.”

But he has no desire to make friends with naff neighbours, magician PAUL DANIELS and wife DEBBIE McGEE.

He said: “They live in the cheap part. We live near GEORGE HARRISON’s old place.”

Liam’s definitely calmed down . . . but as Daniels would say: “Not a lot.”.

Liam Gallagher wants to record the next Oasis album in London – so he can be near his children.

The one-time hellraiser is ready to start work on the band’s seventh studio effort with producer Dave Sardy – who helmed 2005′s critically acclaimed ‘Don’t Believe The Truth.’

However, Liam, 34, isn’t prepared to decamp to Sardy’s Los Angeles studio like the band did last time, because he can’t be apart from his kids, seven-year-old Lennon, Gene, six, and Molly, 10.

He told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper, “We want to do the record in London, because of the kids, you know? But we’re getting started as soon as Sardy finishes what he’s working on.”

Lennon is Liam’s son with ex-wife Patsy Kensit, Gene’s mother is the rocker’ s fiancée Nicole Appleton, while daughter Molly was conceived after Liam had a brief fling with British singer Lisa Moorish – who also has son Estile with Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty.

Liam’s brother Noel and his girlfriend Sara MacDonald are currently expecting their first child together, due in September. The 40-year-old guitarist already has a seven-year-old daughter, Anais, with ex-wife Meg Matthews.

Noel has previously insisted there will be no new Oasis album in 2007, because he wants to prepare for his new arrival.

He said, “It definitely won’t be out this year, although I think it will get started.”

IT’S a double Bill for LIAM GALLAGHER as he poses with two cops.

The OASIS singer was snapped with the pair after the opening of a new art exhibition by STONE ROSES legend JOHN SQUIRE.

Liam went to see the guitarist’s new works at a hip gallery in London’s Shoreditch. I didn’t see him get his wallet out but he seemed to be enjoying the free wine.

TV chef JAMIE OLIVER also showed up and bought two of the 20 canvases that were selling for between £2,000 and £28,000.

John flogged eight of the canvases on show.

Oasis leader admits The Smiths inspired him to form a band

Oasis leader Noel Gallagher has admitted that The Smiths inspired him to pick up a guitar.

The star claims that seeing the Manchester legends on ‘Top Of The Pops’ for the first time turned his head.

“I remember seeing The Smiths on Top Of The Pops, and I don’t mean this in a sycophantic way, but I wanted to be Johnny Marr,” he said. “He had the Brian Jones haircut, the turtleneck, and the big red semi-acoustic guitar and he was cool as fuck.”

Gallagher made the admission on this week’s Britpop edition of ’7 Ages Of Rock’.

The show will also recall the rise of a host of indie bands including Blur, Suede, The Stone Roses, The Libertines and will document Oasis’s legendary Knebworth gigs.

Reflecting on their famous gigs Gallagher added: “Knebworth House is Batman’s house in the films. Did you know that? Well, when you see the Batman films and they drive through the big gates, well that’s Knebworth House. So there I was driving into Batman’s fucking gaff right, in a Rolls Royce, off my head!

“And I remember driving into this big field, and sitting on my Rolls Royce thinking I was Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock, and nearly having a panic attack cos I’d been up all night drinking, and going yeah! I’ll take it. Where do I sign?”
