Pop superstar ROBBIE WILLIAMS has vowed to remain an OASIS fan, even though he represents “everything they detest”. The FEEL singer forged a short-lived friendship with Oasis – fronted by brothers NOEL and LIAM GALLAGHER – in the mid-90s. However, he has since publicly fallen out with the band. Williams says, “I’m not their kind of person. I’m the old-time musical, I’m the end of the pier, I’m NORMAN WISDOM, I’m big show tunes. I’m everything they detest. “I’m a huge fan of Oasis – of what they were anyway – and what they meant to me. They were very important in my life.”

IV Thieves

The Noel Gallagher-approved IV Thieves release their debut in the Autumn and we have details here.

The Texan quartet will release a three track EP entitled The Day Is A Downer EP and besides the title track, comes backed with two more tracks named Catastrophe and Chase Me Off / Out.

The band were originally called Nic Armstrong And The Thieves and released the album The Greatest White Liar, which also scored them support slots for Razorlight and Oasis. Now the band have changed their name and are starting fresh with the EP.

Speaking about the group, Gallagher says: They’ll be one of the biggest bands in Britain. They’re pretty special, man”.

IV Thieves release the EP on October 9th and will also be touring to coincide.

Oasis have announced that they are to release a film to accompany their forthcoming best of ‘Stop The Clocks’.

As previously reported on NME.COM on November 20 the group will release a collection of their best tracks – as chosen by the band – the tracklisting of which is still secret.

However the group have confirmed that a road movie filmed on the band’s ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ world tour entitled ‘Lord Don’t Slow Me Down’ will also be released.

The documentary was shot by director Baillie Walsh, and follows the band across the globe.

The band are also running a competition to allow one fan to attend the worldwide screening of their choice, from a list of cities to be confirmed shortly.

To win, fans must predict exactly which 18 songs Oasis will select to appear on ‘Stop The Clocks’ and the record’s running order, bearing in mind ‘Acquiesce’, ‘Half The World Away’, ‘Supersonic’, ‘Wonderwall’ and ‘The Importance of Being Idle’ are all confirmed.

ROCK STAR Liam Gallagher’s long association with Hampstead looks to be sliding away.

The wild man of rock has lived in the area for a number of years but was recently spotted viewing a house in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

It appears Gallagher has had enough of life in NW3 after a series of runs-ins with his neighbours.

The rock’n'roll star was forced to leave his old home in Redington Road because he was fed up with fans camping outside his front door

And he recently had a spat with a neighbour in his new Primrose Hill flat after they reported him for making too much noise.

But the source of the complaint was not from all night partying or playing music too loudly.

Instead the neighbour complained that the younger Gallagher brother, who lives with long-term partner Nicole Appleton and son Gene, had been making too much noise on his running machine.

Perhaps in a bid to appease the resident, he has recently been spotted keeping in shape by hitting the treadmill at his local gym.

The singer was unavailable for comment. But a neighbour, who was quizzed about the fact that Liam may be leaving, said: “It’s not my business. I didn’t complain about him. It’s between the Gallaghers and the other neighbours.

KASABIAN played a storming show on Tuesday night, a perfect warm-up for their headline slot at this weekend?s V Festival.

NOEL GALLAGHER watched from a sweaty throng of fans and even received a nod from the Leicester lads when they dedicated new track The Last Trip to the OASIS legend.

The band arrived on stage to the theme tune from cult movie A Clockwork Orange before knocking out a brilliant 75-minute set.

SERGE PIZZORNO, TOM MIEGHAN, CHRIS EDWARDS and IAN MATTHEWS played eight tracks from second album Empire and old favourites including Club Foot, LSF, Cutt Off and Reason Is Treason.

Peaches Geldorf

Aging Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher has taken teenager Peaches Geldof under his wing while they are both attending the Ibiza Rocks festival.

Peaches’ father, Sir Bob Geldof is said to be frantic with worry over his party loving daughter and Noel has promised to take care of her.

According to the Daily Star, while Peaches and Noel were both Bar M he took her to one side to have a fatherly word in her ear.

A source said: “Noel was really sweet and fatherly towards Peaches. He told her he loved her work as a DJ and that she could be a huge star. He was quite concerned about her overdoing things though, but she reassured him that she was OK. Noel also told her that whatever the situation or problem, no matter what time of day or night it was, she could go to him.”

Her dad will be pleased?
