Oasis and Coldplay best of friends?

Despite all their old gripes the Gallagher brothers have a new reason to argue? Coldplay.

Liam refused to attend a recent Coldplay show fearing the band’s tunes would leave him suicidal, after the event he was heard saying: “Do you see any razor blade scars? That’s what I would have if I’d seen them.”

However, Noel has openly confessed he is fan of the band and a friend of Chris Martin who he deems far from being moody and suicidal.

He said to BreakingNews: “The new songs sounded fucking great. I love him, he cracks me up. He’s a really funny fucker. He’s the toff and we’re the toughs! I think he finds us pretty amusing, too.”

Maybe there could be a touching duet in the pipeline?

Coldplay’s new album ‘X&Y’ is released on May 23 and Oasis’ latest offering ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ is released a week later on May 30.

Oasis album ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ leaked online

Oasis’ forthcoming album, ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’, has been leaked online, in its entirety, on Thursday evening.

The bands follow-up to ‘Heathern Chemistry’ has already spread around various P2P networks and websites. The much anticipated new album will not hit the shops until May 30th, with new single ‘Lyla’ preceeding two weeks earlier on May 16th.

Most fans are astounded that Sony have managed to keep the release off the P2P community for this long, with most popular new releases hitting hte illegal download scene upto 8-10 weeks before their official release dates.

Earlier this month an eBay seller caused a bit of a stir when CD-R copies of an official 5-track ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ promo were changing hands for £10 or more each.

Noel Gallagher describes the album has their best since debut release ‘Definitely Maybe’.

He says: “I’m more proud of this one than of any album since Definitely Maybe. We stuck it out, we stuck to our guns and we pulled it off.”

Liam slags Franz, Bloc Party, Kaisers, Doherty…

Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has been slagging off Franz Ferdinand (“Right Said Fred”), Scissor Sisters (“weirdoes on stilts”) Bloc Party, The Kaiser Chiefs (“just a bad Blur”) and The Libertines (“Smackheads need slaps”).

As the release of the new Oasis album ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ draws ever closer, frontman Liam Gallagher has been laying into the current crop of successful bands, only reserving
his approval, oddly, for Charlotte Church.

In the interview with the NME Gallagher, speaking about Franz Ferdinand singer Alex Kapranos, said, “He reminds me of f**king Right Said Fred. You put on ‘I’m Too Sexy For My F**king Thing’ next to their records and I bet you any money it’s the same person. It’s the same f****** person! He’s just gone on the Atkins diet and grown his hair. Not my thing at all. I don’t like quirky weird music.”

As for Scissor Sisters, he responded, “If that’s what they call entertaining, then let them have it – bright colours and f**king weirdoes on stilts? I’m more entertaining than that ****. And I’ll rip his f**king vocal cords out any day because he’s f**king rubbish.”

And the newest bands making an impression on the charts don’t get off either. “F**king Kaiser Chiefs? Rubbish” he continues “Not having any of that nonsense, they’re just a bad Blur. I’m not having it – they wear make-up and their kecks are skintight” and Bloc Party “just remind me of a band off University Challenge. Like they’re sitting on a panel”

As for Pete Doherty, the Gallagher brothers seem split on their opinions. Liam, was (not surprisingly) quite negative, saying “I’m not into smackheads. Smackheads need slaps. So what does the word Libertine mean? Freedom! He’s f**king in the corner doing smack with a helmet on his head! There’s nothing free about that. It’s nasty.”

However Noel was rather more diplomatic about the Babyshambles frontman, “Pete’s always been an absolute gentleman to me and my missus,” Noel explained, “He’s incredibly well read and he’s got a good soul. I tell you what, he needs to wash his hands more, but that’s about it. He’s one of the last bohemians, man.”

But what about the Welsh operatic singing sensation? “It’s Charlotte Church for me, man.” Liam declared, “She could be the next Liam. She’s got a great voice and she f**king has it. She knows how to get f**king hammered and she freaks people out.”

Oasis release their new album ‘Don’t Believe The Truth’ on May 30 while the first single ‘Lyla’ will be out on May 16. Both will be released on Noel Gallagher’s own Big Brother Recordings label. Watch the new video for ‘Lyla’ by clicking here.

Gallagher sees himself in Church

Outspoken OASIS frontman LIAM GALLAGHER is a huge fan of Welsh singer CHARLOTTE CHURCH because she shares his passion for hellraising.

The LIVE FOREVER star, famed for starting feuds with other musicians and bands, has shocked his fans by uncharacteristically singing VOICE OF AN ANGEL beauty Church’s praises.

Church came to fame as a straight-laced teenage classical vocalist – but since coming of age she regularly graces the pages of the UK’s tabloids with her party-fuelled lifestyle and tempestuous romances.

He says, “She could be the next Liam. She’s got a great voice. She knows how to get hammered and she freaks people out.”
