The Stands And Their Mates Oasis

The Stands

The Stands

Howie Payne from The Stands has a dilemma. He doesn’t really comprehend how famous some of his friends are. One of his most famous friends is Noel Gallagher from Oasis.

The way Oasis and The Stands met was almost the reverse what you would expect. Noel is a fan of Howie’s band and contacted him one day. “He got hold of a demo of ours about a year ago” Howie tells Undercover News. “He really liked it so he phoned us up and asked us to do some shows which we did. We got to know each other so now he is a friend of ours more than a fan of the group”.

Now that they have known each other for a year, there is no star treatment for Noel whenever Howie sees him. In fact, he often forgets who is hanging out with. “We are just mates. It is weird to me because I don’t see it as anything other than that” he says. “He came and played with us in London the other day and I said to him “are you going to get up and play on the tour?” He was like “I suppose I should”. So he came out, hung out and did a tune. Then the next day it is in the national newspaper. Because he is my mate I just forget who he is. It always takes me by surprise”.

Howie does like Oasis as a band. “I am a fan of Noel’s and I am a fan of Liam’s. I am a fan of Gem’s and a fan of Andy. Collectively at the moment they are Oasis” he says. “I like the new stuff. I like their B-sides from the first record a lot. The first record is the reason a lot of people are in groups”.

The Stands are currently in Australia. You can see them supporting Jet.

“Liam weiss genau, was er tut”

Liam weiß genau, was er tut.

Liam’s Oasis of calm … at M&S

Not off his trolley ... Liam out shopping

Not off his trolley ... Liam out shopping

IT seems LIAM GALLAGHER is not letting problems with OASIS ruin his days off.

The singer showed no sign of strain from the reported strife in the band as he spent the weekend relaxing with girlfriend NICOLE APPLETON.

On Saturday I spotted them near their North London home in their Range Rover.

Yesterday they were buying food at Marks & Spencer.

Oasis are said to be going through a rough patch.

Recording for their new album is taking ages – and without new material they are still undecided about whether to play at Glastonbury this year.

But Liam still looked so chilled out he was pushing a shopping trolley one-handed.

It must be the rock ‘n’ roll way to shop.

Oasis – Klopperei

Oasis on the verge of a split?

Oasis are said to be on the verge of splitting up after yet another fight between Liam and Noel Gallagher.

Heat magazine says a row between the brothers over the band’s sixth album erupted into a full-on fist fight.

It quotes a source as saying: “Liam and Noel are always fighting but they usually make up. This time though, I think things are different.

“Noel has had enough of Liam’s wild antics and just doesn’t want to work with him any more. The argument was over the sacking of producers Death in Vegas and things got ugly.”

Oasis’s management declined to comment to Heat.

Noel Gallagher in shock London Live Appearance

NOEL GALLAGHER unexpectedly joined THE STANDS onstage at their LONDON show last night (April 7).

The Oasis legend got up halfway through the Liverpool band’s set at London’s Mean Fiddler to add guitar to ‘Some Weekend Night’, a track from their recently released debut album, ‘All Years Leaving’.

Radio 1 DJ, Edith Bowman, Oasis’ Gem Archer, Sean Lennon, Jade Jagger and Ringo Starr’s son, Zak Starkey, were all in the audience to watch the show.

Noel is a massive fan of the retro rockers and last night was just the latest in a string of shows where he has been to see them.
